This volume was published to accompany a touring exhibition (titled The Anatomy of Drawing and Space) which opened at The Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego. The project includes 1246 drawings which were installed in the museum in 10 large-scale grids. The work can be seen as individual pieces, or 10 large installations, so the book includes both: the individual works are laid out in chronological order, and the installs are treated as large fold-outs (each of which were tipped into the book by hand).
